The thing is with these kinds of shoots is that I don't only get to know the babies, but I also get to meet the parents as well. In between clicks, we get to share our crazy day-in-a-life-of-a-new-parent stories from frenzy feeding techniques to clumsy nappy-changing experiences. So at the end of each shoot, not only do we go home with lovely images, but I also gather new friends as well.
I am particularly touched with Fritzie and Emong's story. How they had their first born, Raf and how they lost him to an unforeseen, unexplainable sickness. How they tried hard to recover. How it was so difficult and so painful. And as a parent myself of a very young daughter, I couldn't imagine that kind of agony. This certain kind of pain that you will not wish for anyone.
I am moved by how they both held to each other and decided to be optimistic by taking small steps towards their healing and acceptance - until their faith in God's kindness finally gifted them with the presence of Caleb in their lives.
God really has his way of giving hope. And I know that these two truly understand the meaning of grace, love and God.
