One of the things that editorial photography gifts me is meeting all these wonderful people! I took this photograph of Senator Sonny Angara for Men's Health at his home. How great that he's warm, friendly and very courteous. He took the time to know our names and he was even kind enough to try to laugh at my jokes hahha. Should have voted for him the last time, but well, hopefully there's a next time.
Vintage Wagon for Entrepreneur Magazine. We had them set up this kiosk in the middle of the street. What an obstruction but good thing that they're nice to their neighbors so they were very cool about this pictorial being taken along their street. We even had to reroute a garbage truck. I hope it came back to collect trash. Uh-oh!
Took photos for Caviar, a restaurant that serves well, caviar and they also have a stellar wine collection that would make any connoisseur drool!
I finally found time to sort some editorial and commercial work that's been sitting in the archive. Yey!
I had the wonderful chance of meeting the very lovely Amanda Griffin, and photographed her and her favorite books. The full article here.
I had the wonderful chance to be published in an international magazine, based in New York, Ellements, for their avant garde issue. Seeing our work up is icing on the cake, because the real fun was being around talented artists, throwing ideas off each other to make the vision come to life.
Big props to the uber creative team behind the shoot. Maws who did the makeup, and one of my go-to girls for inspiration. Of course, Farah Ramos who's such an amazing model, helping out with the art direction, together with Trisha Jarabelo. Of course, Martin Flores and Vanessa Dominguez who had pushed themselves to do the quirky. And the intricate work of designer Puey Quinones that inspired the whole creative process.
Here are the tears! More fashion work at: http://www.heidiaquendephotography.com/
It's funny how my husband gets very excited at the end of the month because another magazine shoot is coming out. Once we'd find out that the issue is out, we hurry to buy the cover and make evaluations!
I have five photos published this month for FHM! One is 6cyclemind's band photo. So they lost their vocalist, but drummer Tutti will take the front reigns. I like the band's vibe by the way. Good luck with the new lineup!
And three pages went to my photos of Jane who's a model who flew in from the US. She's a Taiwanese-American model who was pretty down to earth and poses really well. This made my shoot fun and efficient. So that was fun!
The next one is a photo of Ramon Bautista who was telling me that the book he had recently had published was written in two weeks! He went into thesis mode just to make sure it would be out in time for the Manila Book Fair. I wanted to slap myself for not bringing his book to the shoot to have it signed. Oh well, hopefully next time.
We took this photo in front of the UP College of Film where he teaches. He's pretty game and all so the shoot was really fun!
